Ann Cather

Ann Tatum was born on June 24th, 1941 in Grandfield, Oklahoma. Ann was the youngest of four children and the only girl. Ann loved Edmond High School and graduated in May of 1959 and then attended the University of Central Oklahoma receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree with a double major in Elementary and Business Education in May of 1962. Ann is a proud member of Alpha Gamma Delta. Ann was on the first year faculty at Edmond’s Orvis Risner Elementary School. She taught and Bill worked at Western Auto store and Thompson’s Book and Supply while attending University of Central Oklahoma. Bill graduated in May of 1966 with his Bachelors of Science Degree and Ann completed her Master’s Degree in counseling in July of the same year. Both Ann and Bill are proud of their alumnae status at UCO and the opportunities that being a UCO graduate afforded them. Southwestern Bell Telephone was Bill’s longtime employer. Ann and daughters, Rebecca and Ruth, followed wherever the Bell led. We have endured 15 moves together. Ann has enjoyed using her background as a teacher, day care director and Christian Educator, and heath care social services director to help others. Rebecca and Ruth are parents to four Cather grandchildren. Each having a boy and a girl. If the grandchildren are involved, Bill and Ann are there. One of our very best decisions was moving to Bradford Village. We are looking toward to many fun times and adding great friends to our lives. Along with people, reading, bridge and gold are some of our many interests.
